چکیده

We study the equilibrium properties of a quantum dot connected to a bulk lead by a single-mode quantum point contact. The ground state energy and other thermodynamic characteristics of the grain show periodic dependence on the gate voltage (Coulomb blockade). We consider the case of almost perfect transmission, and show that the oscillations exist as long as the transmission coefficient of the contact is less than unity. Near the points where the dot charge is half-integer the thermodynamic characteristics show a non-analytic behavior identical to that of the two-channel spin2 Kondo model. In particular, at any transmission coefficient the capacitance measured between the gate and the lead shows periodic logarithmic singularities as a function of the gate voltage. The Analysis of Coulomb Blockade in Fullerene Single Electron Transistor at Room Temperature

The Graphene based single electron transistor (SET) as a coulomb blockade device need to be explored .It is a unique device for high-speed operation in a nano scale regime. A single electron transfers via the coulomb barriers, but its movement may be prevented by coulomb blockade, so its effect is investigated in this research. The conditions of coulomb blockade and its controlling factors such...

Transport Phenomena in Nanotube Quantum Dots from Strong to Weak Confinement

We report low-temperature transport experiments on single-wall nanotubes with metallic leads of varying contact quality, ranging from weak tunneling to almost perfect transmission. In the weak tunneling regime, where Coulomb blockade dominates, the nanotubes act as onedimensional quantum dots. For stronger coupling to the leads the conductance can be strongly enhanced by inelastic cotunneling a...

Direct link between Coulomb blockade and shot noise in a quantum-coherent structure.

We analyze the current-voltage characteristic of a quantum conduction channel coupled to an electromagnetic environment with arbitrary frequency-dependent impedance. In the weak blockade regime the correction to the Ohmic behavior is directly related to the channel current fluctuations, vanishing at perfect transmission in the same way as shot noise. This relation can be generalized to describe...

Dynamical coulomb blockade of multiple Andreev reflections.

We analyze the dynamical Coulomb blockade of multiple Andreev reflections (MAR) in a superconducting quantum point contact coupled to a macroscopic impedance. We find that at very low transmission the blockade scales as n2 with n = Int(2delta/eV), where V is the bias voltage and delta is the superconducting gap, as it would correspond to the occurrence of shots of charge ne. For higher transmis...

Coulomb blockade in a quantum dot coupled strongly to a lead.

We study theoretically a quantum dot in the quantum Hall regime that is strongly coupled to a single lead via a point contact. We find that even when the transmission through the point contact is perfect, important features of the Coulomb blockade persist. In particular, the tunneling into the dot via a second weakly coupled lead is suppressed, and shows features that can be ascribed to elastic...
